International Summer School in Georgia

CSOs Facilitating Cross-border Cooperation in Georgian Conflict Zones


The summer school takes place 15-21 June, focusing the Cross-border Cooperation in Georgian Conflict Zones and the role of civil society organisations as facilitators of the process.

Tbilisi summer school  will bring together 25 students from Estonia, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Program includes academic lectures by various European professors, international organisations and CSOs; in addition visits to offices of Georgian minister for reintegration, EU Monitoring Mission and camp of Internally Displaced People will be held. The summer school aims to seek for suitable models to develop cross-border interactions in conflict zones of the Caucasus region and offering examples of Estonian-Russian transboundary cooperation.

Margit Säre from Peipsi CTC will introduce our examples of civil society cooperation around transboundary Lake Peipsi.


The summer school is organised in cooperation between University of Tartu, Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation and  Tbilisi State Unversity.


The summer school is supported by Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Development Cooperation Program.
