Peipsi region tourism enterpreneurs are developing products for German tourism market

14. February 2019

Workshops in January and February will focus on the creation of three new routes for visitors of Lake Peipsi region. The focus is foremost on German tourists. The issues and challenges of services and products as well as opportunities to reduce seasonality are under discussion.

With the help of tourism expert Aivar Ruukel, the descriptions of three different routes will be created. The length of the journey is 60-80 km, and detailed descriptions will include information about accommodation, catering, sightseeing and possibilties for active vacation and adventures. The peculiarity of the German market is the expectation of the high quality and stability of the services offered, which in turn places high demands on the providers of tourism services.

The three tourist routes of Peipsi region will be part of a common product catalog aimed at the German market, where, in addition to Peips, the routes of Pyhäjärvi and Näsijärvi (Finland), Åsunden, Järnlunden and Stora Rängen (Sweden) and Lake Burtnieki (Latvia) will be introduced.

The development of products and services suitable for the German tourism market is supported by Interreg Central Baltic Program through Lakesperience project. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Foundation of Civil Society.
