Project:  Put into practice the global citizen competency model in the study of global justice, climate justice and interdependence through the method of improvised filmmaking

 Funder:  ESTDEV- Eesti Rahvusvahelise Arengukoostöö Keskus;

Duration: June 2024 - June2025

SUMMARY

The overall objective of the project is to support the implementation of the global citizen competence model by developing and testing a new educational program and digital learning materials.

Using improvisational filmmaking as a tool, we are developing (e-)learning materials and a student-inclusive educational program that addresses topics of global justice, climate justice, and interdependence in educational institutions. Improvisational filmmaking combines creative self-expression, environmental education, and promotes skills related to the global citizen competence model, fostering students' conscious actions (individually and collectively) towards a fairer, more sustainable, peaceful, open, and collaborative world, thus advancing sustainability and responsible citizenship.

As part of the project, we will conduct a summer school to introduce methods and materials to youth workers and educators, as well as improvisational filmmaking hackathons in schools, youth centers, or other settings.

The project aims to increase educators' competence in involving students in the implementation of the global citizen competence model, thereby raising students' awareness of global issues such as justice, climate, and interdependence.
